2. Chrome Extension — Data Practices

This section applies specifically to the Toolkiya Chrome extension "Toolkiya — Free Online Tools" published on the Chrome Web Store (ID pnacafgllcohfmkmldpildmcbcljhgjn). This disclosure is made prominently so users understand exactly what data is and is not collected before installing or using the extension.

2.1 Summary — What Data Leaves Your Device

The Toolkiya extension does not collect, store on any server, transmit to Toolkiya, sell, or share any user data. The extension runs entirely inside your browser. The only network requests made are direct, user-initiated calls to the third-party services listed in section 2.6 (IP lookup and speed test) — and only when you click those features. Those calls send your public IP address (automatically attached by the network, not read by the extension) to those services so they can return a result to you.

2.2 Disclosure of Data Collection by Category

Per the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, we explicitly disclose whether the extension collects, uses, or shares each of the following categories of user data:

2.3 How Data Is Used

The extension opens Toolkiya tool pages inside Chrome and provides convenience utilities (launcher, context menu, IP check, speed test). All file processing (PDF merge, image compression, QR generation, etc.) happens entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. The UI preferences stored locally (theme, recent tools) are used only to personalize the extension popup for you — they are never transmitted off your device.

2.4 User Consent

The extension operates on a user-action-only basis:

• Local storage (theme, recent tools) is written only after you interact with the extension (e.g. change the theme). Installing the extension alone does not write any data.
• IP lookup happens only when you click the "Check My IP" button. It is never performed automatically or in the background.
• Speed test runs only when you click "Start Speed Test". It is never performed automatically.
• Opening toolkiya.com happens only when you click a tool link inside the extension.

By clicking these user-initiated features, you consent to the specific data flow described in section 2.6 for that feature.

2.5 Data Storage & Retention

UI preferences are stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API, which writes to a file inside Chrome's profile directory on your device. This data:

• Stays on your device only. It is never transmitted to Toolkiya or any third party.
• Has no expiry. It is retained until you uninstall the extension, clear Chrome extension storage, or clear the relevant preference from the extension UI.
• Can be deleted at any time via chrome://extensions → Toolkiya → Remove, or via Chrome's "Clear browsing data" with "Hosted app data" selected.

Toolkiya servers retain no extension user data because no extension user data is ever transmitted to Toolkiya servers.

2.6 Permissions & Third-Party Requests

Each Chrome permission and host permission the extension declares is listed below with the exact feature it enables and whether user data is involved.

• storage — Save local UI preferences (theme, recent tools). Data never leaves your device. No user data is read from any web page.
• contextMenus — Adds a right-click menu so you can launch Toolkiya tools from any page. Does not read the page content under the cursor.
• activeTab — When you click the extension icon, opens or navigates the current tab to a Toolkiya tool page. Does not read tab content, history, or track other tabs.
• downloads — Lets tools that produce files (PDF, images) save the result to your Downloads folder. Files are generated client-side in your browser and never transmitted before download.
• Host: toolkiya.com — To open Toolkiya tool pages. No personal data is transmitted beyond a normal browser page visit.
• Hosts: ipapi.co, ipwho.is, api.ipify.org, ipinfo.io — Called only when you click "Check My IP". Your browser sends your public IP (which these services observe automatically) and they return your country, region, and ISP. We do not log, store, or relay this response. • Host: speed.cloudflare.com — Called only when you click "Start Speed Test". Cloudflare measures bandwidth between your browser and their edge. We do not log or relay the result. Cloudflare privacy policy.

2.7 Opting Out

Because the extension does not collect or transmit any data to Toolkiya, there is no "analytics opt-out" required. To stop using specific features that make third-party requests:

• Don't use the feature. IP and speed-test requests are fired only when you click them. Avoiding the button fully avoids the third-party request.
• Clear local preferences. Right-click the extension icon → Manage Extension → Remove to wipe all local storage instantly.
• Uninstall the extension at any time from chrome://extensions.

2.8 Data Sharing & Selling

We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. The extension does not integrate with advertising networks, data brokers, analytics vendors, or SDKs that transmit data externally. The only third-party communication is the direct, user-initiated browser-to-service calls listed in section 2.6.

2.9 Data Security

Local UI preferences are protected by Chrome's sandboxed extension storage, which is isolated from other extensions and websites. All third-party requests are made over HTTPS/TLS. Because no data is transmitted to Toolkiya servers, there is no Toolkiya-side storage that could be compromised.

2.10 Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP)

Because the extension does not collect identifiable personal data, there is no personal data we hold about you to access, correct, or erase. You can exercise the equivalent of deletion at any time by uninstalling the extension (which wipes all local storage). If you believe you have a privacy concern, contact us at contact@toolkiya.com and we will respond within 30 days.

2.11 Children's Privacy

The extension is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, regardless of age.

2.12 Chrome Limited Use Compliance

Consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, we certify that:

• User data is used only to provide or improve user-facing features of the extension.
• User data is not transferred to any third party except as necessary to provide or improve those features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
• User data is not used or transferred for advertising, including re-targeted or personalized ads.
• User data is not used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• Humans do not read user data unless we have explicit consent to view specific messages, doing so is necessary for security, to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations.
